In Reply to: making new units? posted by gorkon the destroyer on April 09, 1998 at 15:50:31: : Hello, : from what I can tell, you need the following to create a new unit: : 3 stli files (name, type, flavour) : 1 mons file : 1 core file : 1 unit file : (of course, this doesn't include graphics) : Could anybody tell me how these files link together or what the mons and core files do? : thanks, : gorkon the destroyer Actually, the very minimum you need to make a new unit is simply a mons and a unit file. The stli files contain the names, flavor, unit name, and special actions (like Journeyman Healing. Click Unit to Heal.) For folks into making new units, I'd suggest adding a mons and an unit file to your tags/local/ directory. Then, import the mons file most comparable to the unit you wish to modify, and import the unit file from the game. Change the headers, and test it. If the units can be added to a map, you're all set to then fiddling with the stats, speeds, stli files, etc.
